Grace's Christening

The Sunday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 29th, Grace was baptisted. My Great-Uncle Frank, took off from preaching at his church to come and perform the ceremony in our church. It was a wonderful 5 minute ceremony. We were so thankful for friends and family that stood up with us in support of Grace as well as our church family that welcomed her with open arms! Here's a few pictures from church...

7 months

On Tuesday, the 8th, Grace turned 7 months old. I know I say it everytime, but time is FLYING by. Our baby girl smiles all the time and each time is no different, because it warms our heart everytime. She's now sitting up like a champ, reaches for everything, and we've even gotten a few da-da's out of her. Her new thing is that she loves to give kisses. Sometimes you can even ask her for kisses and she delivers! :) She's still been dealing with her first ear infection for about a week now, so we've had our ups-and-down days lately, but all in all she' hasn't been to terribly fussy.

Look at my little sparkly-pants. I could just eat her up! :)

Thanksgiving (part 3)

I don't have many pictures, but after lunch we went to Nonnie's for dinner! Lots of delicious food was had that day. Grace even tried her first table food: mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes, she didn't care for either!

Thanksgiving (part 2)

Every year we go to Scott's grandmother's for lunch! Yum! This year was extra special because there were 2 new babies since last year's Thanksgiving. Scott's cousin, Mac and his wife had a baby boy, just 2 days before Grace was born!

Thanksgiving (part 1)

I know, I know, way far behind. Sorry. I'm going to break down Thanksgiving into a few posts, so bare with me.

This was actually taken the Monday before Thanksgiving. Al (Scott's step-father)'s daughter, Jennifer, was visiting from FL with her 3 adorable youngins!

Here's all of Annanna & Grandfather's grandbabies: Grace, Hunter, Aleeyah, & Jordan.

Halloween or Christmas?

Their outfits may leave you a little confused! :) Even though it was just a few days away from Halloween, Miss Lilley was decked out in her beautiful Christmas dress so I could do a quick photo session of her before the holiday rush! We laid the girls in the floor while Jenn and I moved furniture all over the place (even outside), and it was too funny to watch them interact.

And of course I don't have the last shot in this series, but Lilley would then put Grace's passy in her mouth! It was too funny.

*Double our Birth Weight*

In between the hussle of my Christmas shopping, last minute photography sessions, photos to edit, Christmas cards to design, and getting the house ready for a realtor to come and look at so we can put it on the market, (and many other things) I've neglected our blog. I have so much to blog about including our wonderful Thanksgiving as well as Grace's Christening.

I am thankful that blogs were invented because I can quickly type what's on the brain and add a few images here and there. I dont have to stress about my handwriting being just so or misspelling something b/c I hate mistakes in my scrapbook, I know, I'm silly. If you saw Grace's scrapbook, you'd be shocked. I swore I would keep it updated, but I'm pretty far behind, which is why I'm thankful that this blog is keeping me on track. So, before I forgot a few things, I decided to take a break from the above tasks to just take a few minutes and *twitter-blog*, as Scott likes to call it.

There's my baby girl! She looks thrilled huh? No, she just feels bad, my poor baby is sick! I took this picture this afternoon when we got back from the pediatrician. Yep, we went in for a sick visit. Grace has been very congested since last Wednesday evening and has ran a slight fever here and there, but nothing major. I can tell she isn't sleeping as good and she has had a hard time eating because she can't breathe well with all of the congestion. This morning she just seemed worse so called first thing and took her in for a doctors visit. (Out in the rain. Pouring. Down. Rain.) The verdict: Grace has lots of congestion (duh!) and the beginnings of an ear infection. So we have some antibiotics to help clear that up and we'll be back at the doctors in 2 weeks for a follow-up. The doctor also prescribed a Vick's Plug-in and lots of TLC! :) The doctor also said we needed to fatten her up some and recommended that I give her cereal in another bottle during the day, not just at night. So we're going to try adding that into our routine tomorrow!

HEMANGIOMA UPDATE: The day before Thanksgiving we went to Duke for a follow-up dermatologist appointment. We hadn't been in two months so our nurse, Roseanne, and Dr. Bellet were excited to see Grace and how much she'd grown and developed! Both were extremely happy to see how well Grace's hemangioma looked! They increased her dosage of propranolol to 1.01ml (from .09ml) because they hadn't changed the dosage since she started the medication back when she was just 8lbs. On this particular day (11.25.09) she weighed 14lbs. 2oz. (just 2oz. shy of doubling her birth weight). Dr. Bellet said that we'll continue Grace on the medication until she's 9mo. to a year of age and then we'll gradually take her off the medication. Once she's off the medication we'll assess if we need to do more laser of the hemangioma as a whole, or what, if anything, will be our next step.

I hope you all are staying dry today, it sure is nasty out!
xoxo- Meg
