Got Excited

A few weekends ago, Scott and I took Grace to see Ice Age: Continental Drift. While we were at the theater I was SO excited to see this movie poster! I came home and googled the trailer for it... The Wizard of Oz IS one of my all time favorite movies! I'm disappointed that Dorothy, tin man, scarecrow, and lion aren't even in the trailer, so now I'm a little skeptical to go check it out. I did some digging around to see just what this movie was going to be about and supposely this is the prequel to the 1910 'the Wonderful Wizard of Oz', (not the 1939 Judy garland movie and not Wicked). The movie is based on how the wizard arrived in Oz and became the ruler. Anyone want to check it out with me when it comes out? We have to wait until March 2013 to be able to though! :)

Crewe's Birthday Party

Hard to believe Crewe is 4! He turned 4 last month and had a family-dinner get together the evening of his birthday!

Hobos

Ingredients:

Ground Beef

Worchestire Sauce

Onions

Potatoes

Butter

Salt & Pepper

Mix 1 lb. of ground beef, a tsp of Worchestire Sauce, and a tsp of garlic salt. Form ground beef into patties. Place patties on foil squares. Top with slices of onions, then 1/2 tbs butter, then potato slices. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic salt on top. Wrap tightly. Place on cookie sheet. Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350 degrees.

Then & Now

Yesterday was Grace's last day with her TWO's class! Here's a photo I took of her on her first day and then yesterday!

We sure have enjoyed her teachers this year! This afternoon we'll go back for an End of the Year Celebration and then next Tuesday she starts in her THREE class!

Park Play Date

Last week we had a playdate at the park in Edenton with Ayden & Emmie!
Followed by a delicious lunch at Pizza Hut!

Grace said...

A bad storm popped up (8.8.12) with lots of thundering, lightening, and rain.
1.The TV started to blink. Grace said, "(sigh) the weather is messing up my tv (sigh)".
2."Hey look Mom, the trees are waving at us!"

As she's pretending to talk on the phone... "I don't know why Mrs. Tobi isn't answering me... Maybe she's already on the phone... Maybe she'll just send me an email instead." (8.12.12)

I let her have a m&m at a baby shower. Instead of saying thank you she said, "I appreciate it." (8.12.12)

A little background, first: I was in a hurry to leave Piratse Cove to make it to church on time. I was headed down the stairs and I was carrying Scott's suitcase. I turned over a little trashcan that was by the top of the steps; of course it was full of tiny little trash that we'd picked up here and there, so I said, "Shit" QUICKLY followed by, "shucks" to correct myself, however it wasn't too soon. A little voice from the bottom of the steps said, "Moooo-ooooom, you aren't suppose to say shit, it's a bad word." After my apologies and talking about how it is a bad word and I was sorry I said it, Grace says, "Well you can still sit in timeout when we get to church."

Hot Summer Days!

Some weekends this summer its been too hot to just hang out on the pier. The only way to be comfortable is to be riding in the boat with the wind blowing on you or to be in the water!

Pizza, Pizza!

A couple of weeks ago, Grace helped me make a pizza for supper. I love ordering those Little Caesar pizza kits from fundraisers, not only are they quick to fix, but super yummy too! Our favorite toppings: pepperoni and onions.



I also like to sprinkle oregano & italian seasoning on our pizzas before we cook it!

Kiwi Crate: Lightening Bugs

Each month Grace gets a package on our door step! It's called a Kiwi Crate and there are two crafts / activities inside of the box for her to complete. In this particular kiwi crate one of the activities was to make a lightening bug!

It had everything, even glow sticks that we got to put inside of the bottle!

We had a lot of fun with it once it got dark! We went out on the porch and "flew" it around. There is a very long string that threds through the straw on the lightening bugs back. Grace would hold one end and I'd hold the other and we'd let the bug "fly" back and forth between the two of us! Thanks Annana for such a fun gift!

Kiwi Crate: Gardening

Annana gave Grace something called a Kiwi Crate for her birthday. Basically its crafts and activities that are delivered to your door once a month. Our first crate is a gardening crate. It came with two projects. A window garden project and a designing flower pots project. So far we've planted squash seeds and bean seeds in our window garden.

Nags Head Vacation: Part Four

As I've mentioned before, while on vacation it rained most of the time. On our last full day of being there Brooke and I decided to take Crewe and Grace to see a movie. They chose Madagascar 3. It really was a cute movie, but nothing is a cute as these two! :)

Nags Head Vacation: Part Three

Our cousins that live in Florida were down for the week! They made a trip to Ocracoke while they were nearby and stopped to visit us in Nags Head on their way through! It was wonderful to see them and get some playtime together in the pool.

Nags Head Vacation: Part Two

During our Nags Head vacation we only got two beach days in due to rain! This beach day was on Friday! Crewe came and spent the night with us Thursday night so he and Grace could play together and could spend all day on the beach Friday!

Big Daddy & Scott joined us around 3 and Andy and Brooke joined us around 4:30.
