Fun with Christmas Gifts!

Aunt Chris and the rest of the Carson clan gave Grace this really cool play-doh set for Christmas. Grace loves cutting out shapes with her new cutters.

And I'm sure you've already noticed the Snow White outfit, compliments of Santa!

Grace also got a really neat pre-school backpack that's just her size from Santa too. She loves to stuff as many of her things in it as she can and tote it around the house on her back!

Funny things...

Scott would kill me if he knew I was going to write this {especially on our blog} but its too funny not to remember and since I'm terrible at writing things in her baby book, what the heck, I'll post it here! :)

Grace: {giggling} I pooted.
Me: You did what?
Grace: I pooted, just like my Daddy does!

HAHAHA!

Biggest Boo-Boo to date

This Wednesday, Grace and I were be boppin around in the office cleaning up her toys. Grace was going to play with Jack, Z, and Tammy for a little while, while Scott and I went to see "A Christmas Carol" play downtown.

However while cleaning up Grace fell and busted her chin. As the blood began to gush I of course went in complete panic mode. As I'm checking her over I also noticed that the inside of her mouth is bleeding, so I began to freak out even more!

As I am trying to stop the blood im also making sure she stays conscious. Don't know if I mentioned it before or not but Grace went through a spell where she would hold her breath when crying and end up passing out for a quick second. Thankfully she didn't do it to me Wednesday, she must have know that I couldn't of handled that too.

I rushed to put her in the car and we headed to the emergency room. Through my tears and panic, I soon realized that Grace was pretty much back to her normal self. She was asking for her paci, asking to watch a movie, singing frosty the snowman, and even looked at me and told me "i okay, mommy". I got myself together, consulted with my Mom and Dad, and turned around heading back for home.

Once I got home I was able to get a better look of her chin after cleaning her up a bit more. I was still concerned with the wound, seeing as how it looked like a puncture wound, and thinking it needed probably at least a stitch or two. The bleeding had stopped for the most part. It's only bled when I touched it or when grace's shoulder hit it.

After getting dressed and taking her to Tammy's, I consulted with Tammy to see what she thought. We both seemed to think Grace was okay and that I could probably take her somewhere in the morning to have it looked at. Once I made it to Scott's office, after all of the craziness of the afternoon we both decided that it just wasn't right for us to go to the play as we were already running late. With this decision I knew I would feel better going ahead and taking her to urgent care just to be on the safe side.

We got there about 15 minutes before they closed. We were the only ones there and were seen right away. They said it was a good thing to bring her because she did need something to "keep her together" and decided that the durmabond glue was a better option than stitches with the anxiety Grace was going through just from being at the doctors office.

And that was it, our biggest boo-boo to date!

Candy Houses

Grace and I try and go to storytime at the library once a week. There are so many different story times in Wake County that we don't always go to the same library. But the library closest to home is the one we frequent most. Their storytime lasts for about 15 minutes and then they do some sort of craft for the rest of the time.

Last week's craft was to make a candy house.

Grace preferred to eat the candy rather than decorate her house with it.

Rivertown Christmas

The first weekend in Columbia is known as Rivertown Christmas. Its a weekend full of Christmas festivities. Friday night consists of a lighted boat parade and Santa comes to town by boat!

Saturday morning is breakfast with Santa. And although its very cramped, the kids seem to have a good time. They ate breakfast and then a magician was there to do lots of tricks.

Scott was out and about working, but stopped by for a quick second.

I stole the next photo from Brooke's blog! :) Grace wasn't too keen on the Grinch that showed up.

But she liked seeing Elmo and Curious George that came, she just didn't want to get close.

Then of course the man of the hour, Santa, showed up. Grace didn't freak out when she saw him, she even shook his hand, but she did not want to sit in his lap.

Disney on Ice

Last week Scott and I took Grace to see "Disney on Ice: Dare to Dream".

The ice show was about 3 of Disney's stories: The frog prince, Cinderella, and Tangled (Rapunzel). We hadn't ever seen the first movie but Grace had seen the last two and was in a trance during those performances.

Tangled: Rapunzel and Finn were swirling around in the air on Rapunzels hair. This was amazing. It didn't look like they had any harnesses on.

At the very end of the show all of the Disney princesses and prince's came out on the ice with Mickey and Minnie!
