Still on Vacation...

On our way back from Hatteras we decided to stop in Pirates Cove and spend the night since the house wasn't rented that weekend. We had stopped at Aunt Jacky & Uncle David's pizza joint in Rodanthe for a pizza pie, and enjoyed it on the dock at the house.

Andy, Brooke, Crewe, Gigi, & Big Daddy met us there and Andy brought the boat- so we all went for a ride! Here's the babies cover with sunscreen!

Grace was worn out!

It was such a HOT day that we went to the pool once we got home to cool off!

On Sunday we decided to take another boat trip. Here's the kiddos waiting outside for us to hurry up!

We found this really cool island that had TONS of hermit crabs.

Then we went by boat over to Manteo and had a delicious lunch at Poor Richards! Yumm-o!

Hatteras: June 23-26

In June, Scott fished in the Hatteras Marlin Club Tournament. He invited Grace and I to go with him. This was a great family oriented event. The tournament lasts all week and there are family and children related events throughout the time there. We were able to go and stay Wednesday through Saturday.

A shot of the Hatteras Harbour at Sunrise, just before the fleet left to fish on Friday.

The fisherman on Scott's boat took a lay-day on Thursday so we got to hang out by the pool!

Our hosts for the week were some of Scott's friends at Albemarle. They make this week their family vacatione every year and they opened their beach house to us as well. The Haigler's just had two beautiful twins in February and they got to spend some time at the pool too! This is Eloise...

And Mr. Bear...

After Grace's morning nap we'd head to the pool for an hour or two and then come back and just hang out around the cottage. Grace & I played out on the dock, in the shade. Vacation can wear you out!

Before dinner Friday night we snapped this family photo. Its not a very good one, but it works! ;)

The week of June 14th I stayed in Columbia and taught bible school. I had a wonderful group of kids. Here's a quick picture of the whole gang that attended and all of the cans/food that we collected during the week to deliver to the food pantry!!

Paula Deen- June 5th

My wonderful friend Sandi and I had tickets to see Paula Deen back in February. Somehow the show got rescheduled and we finally got to go and see Paula Deen live last month. She was a hoot! We laughed a lot! Sandi was in charge of getting seats to see "Aunt Paula" and she did great! We were second row center stage. We even got to taste the two receipes that Paula whipped up while we were there!

Meredith College

The second weekend of May (see how far behind I am in blogging?) was our Meredith College 5 year reunion. I wasn't really interested in going at first but some of us girls that keep in touch decided to get together and make a girls weekend out of it! And I'm SO GLAD I did! Our weekend started off by meeting at Meagan Matt's house. We have to refer to the 'megans' with first and last names b/c there were 3 of us that all lived together at one time. ;) From Meagan Matt's we went to the Presidents house for a cocktail party with the Band of Oz. We had a great time!

I know this picture is really blurry, but I still love it.

The Band of Oz. We hung out on stage with the toward the end of the night. They let us dance and sing with them!

Good ole Vann Residence Hall. This is where our college life began. All of my closets friends from college all lived on 4th floor Vann our freshman year.

Saturday we went to a ceremony where our friend Laura received an award and then we hung out around campus. We visited the Cate center and grabbed some Meredith gear and then we had lunch out in the courtyard with other alumni.

After lunch we went to a cooking class put on by Meredith and learned how to fix an interesting stirfry.

Meagan Matt's fiance' Clint was wonderful to us while we stayed at their house. He fixed us breakfast and carried us around from place to place. He also snapped this picture of us before heading out to dinner with the Class of 05!

We had dinner at 'Gravy' downtown Raleigh with just our class on Saturday night. There we got to meet up with more of the girls that we have so many memories with!

It was a wonderful weekend and I can't wait to get together with thse girls again!
