12 month well visit
On Tuesday, May 11th, I took Grace to her 12 month well check up appointment. Aside from the 4 nasty shots that she was given, she got a great report. A few stats:
17 lbs. 11 oz. (10th percentile)
29 inches long (50th percentile)
Instead of starting her on whole milk were going to put her on toddler formula for a couple of months and then switch to milk.
I noticed on Sunday, May 16th that Grace seemed to have a little bit of a fever. Well Monday afternoon it was confirmed and it had spiked to 103.1. We got it down with Target brand Tylenol (since everything is recalled and off the shelves) and a couple of baths. It spiked up to 103 again in the middle of the night- but nothing that another dose of meds and a 2am shower with Mom wouldn't help. We had gotten it back down and she slept until 8:30am. By Wednesday her fever was completely gone, but we weren't quite out of the woods yet. Thursday afternoon I noticed that her face was spotty so we kept an eye on it and then Friday her stomach and back was covered in a rash, so off to the pediatrician we went again and Grace weighed 18 lbs. 7 oz. The doctors couldn't determine if it was a reaction from her 12 month shots or if she had Roseola, so we went back in yesterday for a follow up and we're all clear and healthy once again. Thank goodness!
I photographed a wedding on Saturday, but we did get some family time in on Sunday and went out in the boat for a quick trip to the mouth of the river and back. Quick because some nasty clouds headed our way. Here's a picture of Grace that Brooke snapped with her camera.
She wasn't too fond of her lifejacket or either she was just ready for a bottle and nap time. Not quite sure yet. Guess we'll find out this weekend as I'm sure another boat ride is in store during the kick-off to summer weekend!

May Birthdays!
In addition to Grace and Scott's birthday's being in May, we have a lot of May birthdays in the rest of the family as well. Today is Nonnie's birthday so I wanted to wish her a *very happy birthday*! Here is a picture I took of her and Grace at Grace's party on Saturday.

Mudcats Game!
The Mudcats stadium less than 5 miles from our house. There is a delicious restaurant there and Scott and I use to go pre-baby! We also went to a couple of games too but didn't get to any last year bc I was due any day and then Grace was just too little.
We decided to take Grace to her first Mudcats game last month. It was actually opening night and was a little colder than I had hoped. She did fairly good until the bottom of the 5th inning when it was getting a little too far past bedtime and her little nose was red from the cold. So we decided to call it an early night and head home, but we'll definitely be back now that its warmed up.

Happy Mother's Day!
Last year on Mother's Day we brought Grace home from the hospital. I think that was the best Mother's Day present ever and I'm not sure what will ever top that. Being a mother has been a wonderful experience and has taught me many things about life and love. It has made me gain a whole new respect for my parents and grandparents. I thank God for bringing all of the mother figures in my life, but for especially making my Mom, not just my Mom but my best friend!

Happy FIRST Birthday!
At 9:45am a year ago today, we were blessed like never before as we welcomed the sweetest bundle of joy into our world.
