My Mom was in Raleigh for a conference at the end of May.

We've talked for a year now about getting her up here to go to Wine and Design with me.

Finally we made it happen, and we had so much fun!

Summer Concerts: Kenny

One of mine and Scott's favorite things to do together is go to concerts together.

This summer we kicked it off with one of my favorite performers, Kenny Chesney! :)

Vegas

Back April my friend Amanda and I flew to Vegas for the weekend to meet Scott and her boyfriend Jay who were already there for a tradeshow. It was my first trip to Vegas and it was certainly a fun one!

GNO @ North Hills

Just a few random photos of a fun Girls Night Out from last weekend! We all met up mid day Saturday for lunch followed by manis and pedis and just hanging out watching some basketball. Then finished up the night with dinner & a short trip to the World of Beer!

Nashville Part 2

While in Nashville we also went to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

One of my favorite things in the Museum were the handwritten items from the stars such as letters to their family, but most of all the handwritten lyrics to songs that we know and love.

When in Nashville, we heard you have to go to Tootsie's World Famous Orchid Lounge!

We ventured out of town a bit to visit the American Picker's store, Antique Archaeology. It was cool to see things in the store that we'd seen them "pick" on certain episodes.

Nashville- Part 1

Back in November, Scott and I had the opportunity to go to Nashville, TN. I have always wanted to go! Not only did we just get to go to Nashville, but we also went to the CMA Awards while we were there. It was the BEST! If you're a country music fan, I'd HIGHLY recommend it! All of the stars together, like one big concert!

We walked over to the red carpet. We didn't have a very good view of it. Under the red drapes are where stars get out of their cars and walk through the white tent to the left. We waiting for about 5 minutes but never saw a vehicle coming so we walked back over to the Arena so we could go ahead in and get our seats.

Our seats were directly stage left. It was a live show and it was amazing to watch how the show was produced. If you didn't make it back from the bathroom before commericals were over, you had to stand outside and miss part of the show.

After the show we went directly across the street to Rippy's upstairs and listened to an awesome band. I loved that there was music everywhere in this city!

Hands down my most favorite vacation yet!

Date Night | Concerts

One thing Scott and I love to do is go and see concerts together! Back on June 8th we got to see Darius Rucker and Lady Antebellum!!

Wine and Cupcakes

...two of my favorite things! Thursday, March 29th the Meredith College Young Alumnae Board hosted a Cupcake and Wine spring social at Cafe’ Caturra in Cameron Village. We got to enjoy a complimentary cupcake from GiGi’s cupcakes and glass of wine from Cafe’ Caturra. But the best part was spending time with some of my favorite girls!



Steel Magnolias

My friend, Julia, asked me to go with her to see the play Steel Magnolias one Friday night. This movie is probably in the top 5 of my all time favorite movies so I jumped at the chance. :)





The play was fantastic! It all took place in Truvy's beauty shop, which I wondered how they could tell the whole story that way and the fact there were only 6 actresses, but they did, and they did it very well.

Wine and Design at Pocosin Arts

Wine and Design seems to be a big hit that is sweeping across atleast NC. Our local arts program, Pocosin Arts, hosted a Wine and Design but instead of painting on canvas like the one I've done before, we painted a silk scarf. So much fun!

NYC Day 3

Our last day in NYC started off with something I've always wanted to do! A carriage ride in Central Park! :)

It was early and it was Sunday so there weren't any stores open once we got off our carriage ride. We decided to head to Rockefeller Center. On our way there, walking down Madison Ave., we passed St. Patrick's Cathedral. The church first opened in 1879 and is open for visitors, so we went in during mass. I'd have to say its probably the most beautiful church I've ever seen. When we were there it was the 39th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision granting abortion on demand in our society, so that seemed to be the focus of their preachings.

We then went to Rockefeller Center where we spent some time in a gift shop and discussed the idea of going ice skating. We were beginning to get limited on our time so we decided not to but did go and check out out ice rink.

Also in Rockefeller center we went to the NBC Studios. We were going to take a tour of the studio, but the wait was too long and the tour was too long for what time we had left. We decided to go back near our Hotel and check out Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.

We stopped to take a photo at one of the cheesy touristy photo ops in the museum:

There are wax museums in other parts of the World and from what I could gather the molds rotate between all of the museums. In the wax museum you will find A-list celebrities, sports legends, political heavyweights and historical icons, reliving times, events and moments that made the world talk about them. Supposedly each wax figure is of true size to its person.

I think this one was Scott's favorite. Donald Trump, and he could pretend to ring the stock market bell.

We concluded our trip by visiting the Casino/Racetrack in Queens! So much fun! And as Grace loves to say, "Where we go next?"
